DESCRIPTION
As NJM’s Technical Writer, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining up to date technical documentation of equipment offered to customers. You will provide for the management of all technical documentation on the products, prepare and maintain operation manuals manufactured under the guides of PMMI. This includes but is not limited to safety, installation, troubleshooting, etc. Responsible for the translation of documents required for understanding the equipment in languages from English to French and occasionally into Spanish.
OBJECTIVES
- The incumbent is responsible for producing and maintaining up to date technical documentation of products offered to customers
- Provide logistical support to the customer service team
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides for the comprehensive management of technical documentation on the products in terms of standards at the level of customer orders
- Prepares and maintains operations manuals manufactured under the guides of PMMI including the following sections:
- Safety and protection
- Installation and start-up equipment
- Procedures for operation of the equipment
- Procedures for inspection and maintenance
- Troubleshooting Guide
- Recommends improvements following the irregularities in the procedures for installation, commissioning, operation, inspection and maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment
- Responsible for the translation of documents required for understanding the equipment from English to French and occasionally into Spanish
- Takes care of the documentation for the validation of equipment by:
- Write test protocols of our equipment (FAT).
- Writes protocols for product performance (PQ)
- Writes protocols product installation (IQ)
- Prepares operating protocols of the products (OQ)
- Manages the outsourcing of validation projects
- Provides technical support to the service department:
- Supports our customers regarding issues related to documentation or validation
- Manages the organization and classification of files relating to equipment sold
- Maintains up to date databases on equipment sold
- Assesses compliance of our products to customers' technical requirements (URS), sets out to develop features for compliance while minimizing the risks. Form responses to the client
TRAINING & KNOWLEDGE
- Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation and Control (or equivalent)
- Software knowledge: excellent command of MS Office (knowledge of FrameMaker and Adobe Professional Extended is an asset)
EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years experience in technical writing in the field of equipment
- Excellent command of English for technical writing tasks (especially English speaking clients)
- Functional in a French working environment (working language)
